The funny thing is that yesterday I flicked through the tv channels while I was waiting for a football match, and I came across that very interview, and I saw a great deal of it on live tv.
Самое забавное, вчера щелкал каналами в ожидании футбольчика, и попал как раз на это интервью и большую часть увидел в прямом эфире.

The funniest thing is that yesterday, I was channel surfing/flipping through the channels before my soccer/football game started, and I happened to come across this very interview, of all things, and caught most of it live.

OK! So he was waiting for a football game. I initially thought he was hoping
to find one. 👍🏼
The funny thing is that, yesterday, I flicked channels in waiting for the footie to start and hit the exact interview and watched most of it live.
“щелкал каналами” and “футбольчик» are written in a colloquial way in this sentence.
aha! Well channel surfing is kind of colloquial and in this context there’s no reason to make soccer game sound cute, so i think we’re good 👍🏼 Thank you! 😉
Uly, how can this be over without my 2 cents?
Can you explain why "very interview"? What meaning does the word VERY bring here?
I kind of understand but would like to hear your explanation.
Thanks
Если вдуматься, в русском так же - это САМОЕ
Yes, basically VERY means SAME, but is a little more emphatic and “coincidental.” You can even combine the two and say VERY SAME to be even more emphatic: “My twin brother and I have a special bond. For example, my wife and I went to Beijing on our honeymoon. Five years later, my brother and his wife went too. When they came back, we were looking at pictures and I couldn’t believe that for their first dinner, he not only sought out the very restaurant my wife and I had eaten at, but sat at the very same table.”
