I think we need to work out how the first two sentences tie in. (1) Do the actions in the first sentence go hand in hand? In other words, are they proposing a win-win? They learn to protect the environment AND they learn to see things through once they've started them? (2) Is the second sentence a happy consequence of the first? They will meet other people who are doing the same thing?

Protecting the environment could help them (a) learn to care for it, and (b) learn to work towards their goals... as well as make new friends along the way/while they’re at it. However, people tend to be tied up with work and school, so they usually relax in their free time.

Even so, I believe people will make time for the environment. You see, the more people there are protecting it, the easier it'll be to save/conserve it.

Actually, the защита природы научила бы меня ухаживать за ней part sounded really awkward to me. (1) Yes, the two actions go hand in hand there: There are two things you learn - taking care of nature and pursuing your goals. (2) Exactly.
To me, that sounds like "First(ly), protecting the environment could help them... and ... Second(ly), people could meet...
Yeah, this was a tough one because it needs connectors in order to flow correctly. I hope my interpretation is correct.

And the task wasn’t made any easier by Anna’s reluctance to use proper punctuation and spacing. If you can’t write properly in Russian, how much more can you expect from your English!?
I can't but agree with you. Some people are so ignorant about their language or just careless as hell.
