It's more common to say "no such LUCK": We were all hoping our boss would be mauled by a lion on his safari but no such luck - he was back to work the next week." -or- "I silently prayed that I wouldn't have to speak to him during the entire meeting but no such chance - they seated me right next to him." As.you can see, we use this expression when we express our expectations for a specific outcome, but it doesn't come to pass. It expresses more disappointment and frustration that simply saying "unfortunately that wasn't the case." In cases like my first example, it often expresses disappointment over a foiled malicious intent when the speaker wishes to be sarcastically humorous or genuinely vicious.
