Uly, why did you use the verb "to score"? It seems to have another meaning than needed here.
Elena, we also use score when someone manages to find or acquire something valuable, rare or just hard to get for their "team," (an analogy to scoring points in a game). In this example, the subject sometimes SCORED cool things for his museum.

The author "scored a pass" meaning that he got his hands on a ticket that is normally very hard to find.
