While you're looking for a (new) job, I'll be taking a refresher course. ¿

While you look for work, I’m going to get some advanced training/take some advanced courses/get some accreditations (in my field).

REFRESHER is another word that Russians overuse in this context. To me, a refresher implies relearning something you already learned/know.
I actually didn't like it either. I just couldn't come up with anything better than dictionaries provide)).
Thanks))

So this means that while one is looking for a job, the other already has a job and is going through development training?
>So this means that while one is looking for a job, the other already has a job and is going through development training?
Exactly)
That’s ok because my translation would work if the person already had a job.
👍
Uly, can we start the sentence with "While you're looking for a job..."?
Yep. Or better “while you’re OUT THERE looking for a job...”
When people are looking for work, we use the expression “pound the pavement”... While you’re out there pounding the pavement... 😂
SO, what's the core different between looking for a job and looking for work?
Pounding the pavement - 👍
@Russ, there’s no difference
