-or- You know how THAT goes (с ударением на THAT если речь о ситуации, которая никогда не изменяется). "I told him his hair's too long. Now he won't speak to me for a month. You know how THAT goes."

no question mark.
you know how it happens.
GoldenFish: "You know how it goes" is also good
Thanks! But what about "I know how it's" and "I know what's like"?
Такие варианты возможны? Да, они не совсем точны (особенно второй), но в принципе отражают суть?
IS cannot be contracted in a dependent clause: You say "I know what his name is." You can't say "I know what his name's." You can say: "You know how it is," but not "You know how it's."
"YOU know what it's like" is also a good variant here
Thanks a lot!👍
