But that’s not a good idea unless you’re certain your translation is correct. In this case - I don’t think it is. The willies is the feeling you get like you have ants walking up your back when you see someone or something creepy.
There must be better ways to express that in Russian that with just пугать.
Бросает в дрожь/становится не по себе. Пугает - in some contexts.
