I came across this idiomatic Russian expression and don't know exactly the best way to translate it into English. The meaning is obvious, but since it's idiomatic the translation might not be a literal one, I'm not sure.

Thank you! Initially I translated it the same as Elena, but second guessed myself. This, of course, is usually a mistake, lol.

Your instincts were correct! 👍🏼 in this context, KEY can be an adjective or noun.
