На каком языке?
1) это идиома, поэтому ничего не перепутала.
2) Английский язык
Ну тогда, раз уж возникли вопросы, и не один, не было бы разумно привести источник?
So you’re proposing that “there’s nothing to touch“ means “nothing is better“? I’m an American and have been speaking the English language for 55 years and have never heard such a thing.
To be fair, something appearing to have similar meaning can be found in the internet
что-то вроде "ничто не может сравниться с" - это может быть и хорошее (ничто не может быть лучше) и плохое (ничто не может быть хуже)
Yes, xxx can’t touch yyy means that xxx doesn’t compare to yyy. But that’s a long way from “there’s nothing to touch” - it makes no sense at all.
“My wife may not keep the cleanest house, but you can’t touch her cooking.”
“John is a good golfer, but he can’t touch my brother.”
So the correct pattern is CAN’T TOUCH SOMETHING... it just doesn’t work in the pattern “there’s nothing to touch”
"There was nothing to touch Belsen. ... I have seen all the horrors of the war, but I have never seen anything to touch Belsen"
"There's nothing to touch an English ( Welsh!!) country garden "
"Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo: Nothing to touch it in Tokyo "
"There's nothing to touch Baracouda. ... FRENCH raider Baracouda (2.40) is impossible to oppose in this afternoon's £26,000 PricewaterhouseCoopers Hurdle at Ascot. "
"I needed so much | To have nothing to touch | I've always been greedy that way”
Ah! I read this post as “there’s nothing to touch” in the sense «здесь нечего
трогать». It should have been written as “there’s nothing to touch something”
Yes, there is nothing to touch a bad "translation", a fragment taken out of context, without any example and any link to any source ...
Absolutely 😂
