How to translate? (ru-en)

Example

I have been thinking and have decided that we haven't done all what we had been planning."

I have been thinking and I have decided that we haven't done everything we planned/have been planning."

  1. 1.

I pondered it over for a while and it dawned on me that we hadn't accomplished all we'd planned.

  2. 2.

I just came to the conclusion that we didn't do all that was planned.

Example

Her heat was beating fast as if she had been running. Actually she had not even risen from the chair on which she was sitting."

Her heart was beating fast as if she had been running. In fact she had never risen from the chair on which she was sitting."

Если ли тут разница между never и not even?

Example

He hadn't signed the contract until he learned it carefully."

He would/did not sign the contract until he had studied it carefully."

Example

Now he lives in Moscow. He has been living in Kazan for twenty years before."

Now he lives in Moscow. He lived in Kazan for twenty years before."

Example

I had hardly said goodbye when the train started. My family was standing on the platform and waving to me."

I had hardly said goodbay when the train started. My family were standing on the platform waving to me."

Example

She was sitting next to me, but I hadn't noticed her untill she dropped her bag on the way out."

She had been sitting next to me, but I had not noticed her untill she dropped her handbag on the way out."

Почему используется Past Perfect Continuous? Ведь нет указания на продолжительность, только на момент (untill she dropped her bag).

Author’s comment

I met Betty in the cinema when it was raining. She was sitting next to me, but I hadn't noticed her untill she dropped her bag on the way out. I picked it up, and we got talking."

I met Betty in the cinema when it was raining. She had been sitting next to me, but I had not noticed her untill she dropped her handbag on the way out. I picked it up and we got talking."

Example

We had been traveling about two hours, and at last we saw a gas station."

We traveled about two hours and at last saw a petrol station."

Example

I got off the couch on which I had been sitting and went to the window. It had been raining and there were puddles everywhere."

I got up from the couch I had been sitting and went to the window. It had been raining and there were puddles everywhere."

Можно ли было так употребить got off и on which?

  1. 1.

I got up of the sofa,I had been sitting on, and came up to the window. It had been raining and there were puddles everywhere.

Example

We had been living in the country for two month when we learned that our old friend was going to visit us whom we hadn't seen for twenty years."

We had lived/had been living in the village for two months when we learned that an old friend whom we had not seen for twenty years was coming to visit us."

Example

I think I have not been the worst husband those twenty years that we have been married."

I don't think I've been the worst of husbands those twenty years that we have been married."
