++Grumbler (but note that if you write out "I am," most natives would instinctively read this as "I AM happy for you" as said by someone who was accused of NOT being happy for someone. In the affirmative sense, the stress falls on HAPPY, which naturally weakens the force of "I am" thus bringing about the contraction as a natural consequence of the rhythm of this common expression of support: I'm HAPPY for you))) I hope that makes sense.
