Good morning. Was wondering why Тает лед becomes so hot these days?? (: I perceive the sarcasm which I like, I would appreciate some tips on how to appreciate.
Was watching the MTV, to be frank, I'd be so scared if I meet those guys when I travel alone in Russia or Ukraine... Lol
Good day!

What do you mean by тает лед, Qing? just the phrase? or is it a song or a band?
It is a song by the band Грибы which went viral. Even the Chinese social media is talking about it
OK, I totally missed it, so there's nothing I can help you with this time
Hehe no worries Igor. Have a lovely day!
It's a kind of subculture I think. The image of "bad guys" as they see it, pretty weird texts and all that stuff. I wouln't be very much surprised with the fact some young Russian people listen to the trash like that. The parody is much better only because it implements irony.
didn't get it. like at all.
Thanks for the cues, Tatiana! I seem to comprehend less and less what lies in the little heads of our younger generations - a phenomenon that seem to exist beyond borders... )) well, nice to listen to something non-classic just for a change sometimes!
NP, Qing! I should admit I like some things from youth culture. Young people often have fresh view of the world around them and enthusiasm that is highly transfusive. But this example presents us a feeble attempt to show off. No cultural background. Low educational level.
It's definitely a better example of Russian pop and hip-hop music, especially compared to the previous hit called Party maker. By the way, the commentators of the video also think it's strange. Maybe there were some mushrooms involved, who knows 😄
Anyway, I find the image of patsanchiki used quite funny. And I really liked the parody.
Igor Yurchenko, being missed this "song" you've missed nothing! Don't worry.
Xiaoqing He, in many heads of younger generations there is nothing but degeneration...
Xiaoqing He, here is the example of contemporary Russian hip-hop on the same theme as shit called Грибы, but that is made in not so primitive way:
On the other hand primitive songs is better for learning foreign language, but Грибы... Oh, my God.
It does not sound that bad but I prefer the chorus rythm, Maksim. Is that hip-hop? I can recognize what genre is at the beginning.
No, that I understand a word...though.
Marissa, Xiaoqing, the image of the band members in the music videos of theirs means nothing. It's just an image. They make original videos for their songs (at least at the moment) and the music/lyrics is quite nice. They are on the rise now in Russia. In this particular case, there is no connection between the video plot and the lyrics. It's a kind of Russian hip-hop of 90's, different from today's mainstream Russian music, that's why perhaps it is very popular now. And, of course, the music is nice, in my opinion. But I would recommend other music videos of theirs (not sure about subtitles):
H Z thanks for having your perspective! I have to confess that I like listening to Грибы when I work out )) I lack the cultural background to judge it objectively, but i do find the melody enjoyable. Thanks for recommendation
Hi, Qing, are you in Moscow now? Just interested about your studies.
Hi Артемий! Just finished my class today! I'm studying at Pushkin's Institute. ;) I need to practice more my spoken Russian though....
now you have all the opportunities for that, don't you?
So, do you like it? What do you think about Moscow and your housing?
@Igor I manage to get into B1 level (lower intermediate), it's great practice in class, however when it comes to real life, I still have difficulty understand the conversations @ Артемий I went to Peredelkhino this weekend, and attended a play at театр наций. Moscow has never failed to intrigue and surprise me so far. :) housing-wise, it's okay, as it's close to my class.
If you feel like meeting up for a drink, or showing me some unknown side of Moscow, feel free to drop me a line! +79265414366 . Cheers
That's nice, I have never been to Peredelkino. I would like to meet but I can't.
Qung, I feel like meeting up for a drink or so but unfortunately I am 9 time zones away from Moscow.((( Anyway I am considering to visit China in the summer....
Me, too. I am in but I am in Mexico. We should do a Lingo Live gathering one day. :-) At least, in a Middle place. :-) ♡♡♡♡ or come down, you guys. :-) ♡♡♡♡
also, I thought you were going to be in Moscow in the summer... not now. I am glad you are already there. Enjoy, Xiaoquing! :-)
@Tatiana, do let me know when you will be in Shanghai, I could show you around. Or wait for me in Kamchatka. Moscow is overwhelming me with warmth and hospitality, no one has ever warned me about that before :) maybe I'm just lucky. Everyday I see my Russian language grow, it is like a 'tree' that we have planted together. :) @ Marissa, Mexico is territory I'm yet to chart, and I believe it deserves a special "treatment", ideally I will not come here without mastering Spanish, if I manage to wait ! :) much love to all of you who have so kindly helped and encouraged xxx
I will, Quig!
MTV is one of my fav. As MTV quickly became a cultural phenomenon, and it helped to popularize music videos and the music industry.
