>>To be given...
It's the seller who начисляет, not the buyer. The buyer получает бонусы.

⦿ ULYadded a comment 4 years ago

Yeah. ACCUMULATE isn’t bad, but it’s a bit formal. In this context, we normally use RACK UP when it’s about accumulating good things like points, credits, interest, etc.

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 4 years ago

>>to rack up (shopping) bonus points. This also looks like получает бонусы.

⦿ ULYadded a comment 4 years ago

Well you have to get them before you can accumulate them, but RACK UP means to get more upon more of something. Say you got 50 points last week, then this week you got 50 more - you’ve racked up 100 points in two weeks (because you didn’t spend them, but just kept adding to them).

How about REWARD shopping points(?)

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 4 years ago

To me, "rack up..." is like копить/набирать. It's about taking something.
But начислять is about giving something.

⦿ ULYadded a comment 4 years ago

Wait, so it doesn’t mean “accumulate”? I was going by Евгений’s original translation.

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 4 years ago

And I was trying to point it out that this is kind of different.)

⦿ ULYadded a comment 4 years ago

Ok, please explain what this means while I delete this mistranslations.

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 4 years ago

Всё просто. Покупатель собирает/копит бонусы (racks up¿ bonus points), a магазин начисляет [=даёт] бонусы (gives/pays/awards¿ bonus points).

Спасибо, Татьяна!

Взаимно, Uly! Мне самой интересно было.
