Как перевести? (ru-en)

@Uly Marrero,
could I ask you?☺

1) - What do you think about this translation:
"You bite off than you can chew" -
is it correct in this context?
It seems to me, it means "to take a bigger task than you can handle",
am I right?
Is it possible to use it in above-mentioned context?

2) - The translation
"You're spreading yourself too thin" - as I know, it means "to do too many things at the same time, it's kind on a hint of inefficiency".
I can't get - can we use this phrase in negative sence also?
For instance, if someone judges, condemns, criticizes other people, we can say to him:
"You know, you're spreading yourself too thin"?

Would you, plz, explain this nuance!☺

I agree. Biting off more than you can chew doesn't belong here.

Spreading yourself too thin can also mean that instead of picking your battles and venues carefully and saying meaningful things on significant occasions, you're all over the place, saying all kinds of things to and about all sorts of people. Being indiscreet and carelessly judgmental, for example.
