Uly, isn't your version too formal? Just want to feel better nuances of the language...
Not at all. This is a very common question. If I understand the Russian correctly, this refers to how you react to people and situations, correct?
What is your temper? doesn't sound idiomatic to me. We would say "What is your temper like? -or- What kind of temper(ament) do you have?
Never happened to ask or read
...such a question in English, so your comment appears quite useful. Now I know. Gracias
They ask you, for instance when you apply for a new job or join a dating site.
Understood. When I was young , there were 3 times that 3 different girls I wanted to marry said to me the same phrase: "У меня ужасный характер".A kind of polite refusal.
Actually, there is no difference between temperament in
English and Russian "характер". However, in Russia, "темперамент" is mostly about how quickly a person behaves - slowly or fast, are they calm or excitable. "Характер" shows wider and deeper picture of the individual: are they easy offended, or envy, grateful or not etc.
That would be temperament in English too. Temper is more about how angry you get and how quickly.

Sorry, going to bed. "Вечно пьяный, вечно сонный, инженер авиационный". 'Always drunk, forever sleepy, aviation engineer'. However, I don't drink, and retired since April 1st...
This communication with you is quite helpful. Thanks again!
Always a pleasure! Good night 🌙
