This is a play on words. When people (especially in movies) stop in a town on their way to another place, and go to a restaurant, for example, the waitress will often ask "Are you from around here or just passing by?" (-or- just passing through). In this post, the meaning is one of two people casually meeting, but with a strong attraction for one another, knowing that it's a fleeting thing because they're both "on their way" somewhere else.
