Ой, а я думала, снег в июне - сюрреализм. Сколько мест, столько и странностей. )))

September 9th 2020. San Francisco, NOON! Thick smog has covered the entire city and it looks like night. The weirdest part that it doesn't smell. The air quality is good. Surrealistic!

Now it's reddish, looks like Mars.
And you're a lucky one who's witnessing it.)))
September 9th 2020. San Francisco, NOON! Thick smog has covered the entire city and it looks like night. The weirdest part IS that it doesn't smell. The air quality is good. SURREAL!
That’s crazy!
Пыльная буря надвигается!
I just went outside. So, this is not just smog. I saw cars covered with a thin layer of ashes. That makes me thing the sky is covered with ashes+smog, hence so dark.
Why not surrealistic but surreal?
As for witnessing - yea, I like it! this is something you can see only in Sci-fi movies. And here I'm walking the city and it feels I'm in some kind of different reality.
Oh my gosh, I hope you guys are safe there. Is the air breathable at all?
Tatiana, with this amount of fires nobody's lucky there.
Ольга, мне не показалось, что Russ очень-то горевал по поводу произошедшего.)))
Thanks, guys for your concern. Indeed I'm not upset. We just can't go outside often. The air quality has worsened since I posted the picture. On that day it was easy to breathe, 2-3 days later it's hard. The ashes and dust are in the air. The kids stay home for sure. Adults go for shopping but it's always by car, so not too bad.
Uly, would you respond why can't I use surrealistic? Why only surreal?
Russ, держитесь там. Мы искренне за Вас переживаем. И ещё за одного пользователя сайта, который, похоже, находится в такой же ситуации.
Who else can't breathe? Someone else here is from California?
Russ, there’s an art genre called surrealism, and the adjective that relates to it is surrealistic. When something seems like a strange reality, the adjective we use is surreal.
Hm, can you give a couple of examples of when you would use "surrealistic"?
His paintings have both surrealistic and classical elements.
