Why “give”?

They HAVE small print

Why not? Newspapers give us information. They give us photos. Sure, they give us some print.

And he get it. So they give it to us.

Newspapers provide/give information, images, articles, USING print, but print is not one of the things they logically GIVE/PROVIDE. At least not by English logic.

People don’t buy newspapers for the print, the buy it for the news - THAT’S what’s PROVIDED for their money.
