Предал - в прошлом, поверил ещё раньше. Present Perfect должно относиться к настоящему. Я бы так объяснила. А что скажет Улий?)

I agree. Sometimes Russian uses the past tense to talk about something that just happened. So it’s possible that this means “this is the first time in my life I’ve trusted someone.” It all depends on the context.
