good point but there's no basketball поле either, unofficially we can place whatever word we think might fit at the moment. That's probably where author is standing

Well I'm not afraid to go Google for something I'm currently interested in. I've never heard the term "basketball field" before, only "basketball court", so I kinda wanted to clear this up for myself and so I did 😊

we can go into forever trying to prove what we have heard or what we haven't. I haven't heard "баскетбольное поле" so I came up whith what I did, providing nearly word to word understanding. I believe my reaction would have been different had the request been "баскетбольная площадка" or some other versions
