Ирина, я тут погуглил, Google на What make is реагирует, и в Lingvo есть значение «2» - тип, марка, изготовитель. NGram тоже показывает, что What make is употребляется наравне с What brand is. Сам удивился

Marina is absolutely correct. We use this primarily for tv's, cars, and phones. When you call a company to service one of these things, the first thing they ask is "What make and model is it?"
