we can't be certain about marriage. Thought the research shows that marriad people are generally happier than single it is difficult to say if they become happier after getting married or are originally happier than those who stay single.

I don’t think that all single people are unhappy, nor that all married people are happy. It’s all relative and depends on the circumstances. Situations can vary. Personally, at this point in my life, I feel more than happy, despite not being married.
These are all just conventions. I stopped viewing marriage, weddings, marital life, relationships, and all of that as something special a long time ago. Perhaps it’s because I see too many unhappy married couples who I would definitely not want to emulate. And when I compare it to the lives of those who are free to meet new people at any time, even on dating sites like where people aren’t looking for serious relationships, I realize that sometimes those people are far happier because they feel fully satisfied with their lives.
