"I'll be fine" обозначает все это.
А, спасибо большое!)
Обойдусь - I'll pass
I'll pass means "no, thank you". A: would you like a martini? B: I'll pass - I'm driving.
Детей не следует баловать, так как они могут вырасти испорченными.
You shouldn't treat children with an excessive care as they can get spoiled.
I guess both "I'll pass" and "I'll be fine" fit in here.
Alex, "I'll pass" means "no" - how can that fit here?
treat with excessive care = coddle
обойдусь means "no" but in a polite manner.
- Let's go have fun with us.
- Guys, thanks for the suggestion, but I think I'll pass. (обойдусь)
Ok, good to know, but that's obviously not the meaning in this post.
Alexandr, "я обойдусь" in Russian usually has a negative connotation. If your friends invite you somewhere and you say "нет, спасибо, я обойдусь" it would mean that you're pissed with them for some reason and don't want to go with them.
Thank you, Olga, that's the feeling I got when I read this. It sounds like "fuck you all, I'm not going!"
Exactly, Uly.
