not quite right. "ученого" is "of a scientist", not "of science". so, as I see it, the exhibition was dedicated to a specific scientist and his work, and not to science in general. see my translation for comparison

well, by it's form it is an adjective "учёный" - may be translated as "learned". a few centuries back, it was actually used as "ученый муж" - "learned man", meanind an educated person (at that time, mostly male, of course), and a bit later on - a scientist. Along the way noun (муж), has been lost, and now "ученый" is used as a noun, meaning "scientist". It is still used as an adjective, meaning "educated, learned, experienced", but not too often, and it has some archaic ring to it.
