Mike: After DO YOU MIND we use -ing, not the infinitive.
не хотите ли вы поиграть?
Do you want to play?
Would you like to play?
Mike: After DO YOU MIND we use -ing, not the infinitive.
Clear! Thank you.
Now it's correct, but not very idiomatic. The thing is that we say "do you mind" when it's something that might potentially be unpleasant, inconvenient or annoying. So we use it when we ask a favor of someone: "Do you mind taking my calls while I'm in the meeting?" "Would you mind taking care of my dog while I'm on vacation?" "Do you mind turning down your music - I'm trying to study." So with "play" it doesn't really make sense.
Мм. как интересно. Спасибо вам!
Всегда пожалуйста, Майк!
