Yes, SORT OUT is vey British in the sense of resolving a problem. When the Beatles wanted to appeal to the American public, they used the words “We can work it out” instead of SORT)))

Also, the Brits use the expression SORT SOMEONE OUT in the sense of reprimanding someone who is causing trouble. We don’t use it like that. Additionally, SORT ME OUT can have a sexual connotation which doesn’t exist in AmE.
