Валерий, why in one sentence and without any punctuation?
“I was deprived of hearing”? Do you really think that people talk to each other like that? I hate to break it to you, but they don’t.

Just in case someone thinks that people do talk like that, Google Ngram shows zero results for “I was deprived of hearing”, as well as for “he was deprived of hearing”, “she was deprived of hearing” and so on.
