This has almost become a fixed phrase. I don't know why we don't use an article in this phrase, but we don't:

Your version is correct, Aleh. For example, if a mother comes to the school to pick up her child early, the principal can suggest "The class is about to be over, let's not interrupt them. He'll be out in five minutes."
