between the hammer and the anvil?
I watched the film but I am not as good as you at catching idioms, I just looked up for something similar. lol. I just like guessing and checking on the internet because I never have a clue. :-)

I learnt this idiom when Shrek animated film was out. The phrase is used to describe the main character. Can you come up with the idiom?

That's a good one, meanig to face two unpleasant alternatives. But it doesn't describe the hero. Sorry, Marissa, you missed the target.
He was a believer but what else?
Strong as an iron? That is not even an idiom. If nobody guess it (Which I doubt) I will watch Shrek again. ;-)
Haha, excellent idea! Watch it from the very beginning and I bet you anything you'll run across the answer!
jack of all trades?
It could be but it isn't, Vadim. If you look at the picture, you'll never tell that it's all about "all trades". But your idiom is good too.
It was the first thought that popped into my head when I saw these tools...
Do you realize how much you're close to cracking this puzzle? You really are! :-)
Did he use to get the wrong end of the stick?
I think sometimes he did, but I'm not sure those are actually sticks in the picture.
Neither am I :)
This one is really hard to guess if you don't know it exactly (and I don't feel like I do).
I agree, Alexander, I did my best to puzzle you here, haha! A hint. There's the key word already in the comments above.

looks like we've got a bingo here :)
Spot on, Vadim! Have you even found the song? :-D
Yes, Alexander! We have. Can you, guys, tell the meaning of the phrase?
я не самая большая рыбка в этом пруду
Something like that, I love the definition given in the Urban Dictionary "A gentle way to say that someone is just unintelligent"
Good song indeed and excellent brain exercise, thanks Alexander!
Thank YOU, Vadim. It's the best compliment I could hope for about what I do here. :-)
Песня Shrek - All Star и текст на двух языках:
That's great, Vadim! Thanks a lot!
There's also a version: "not the sharpest tool in the box/knife in the drawer"
You're right! Posting the puzzle I secretly hoped you'd come up with a Limerick, I even googled it, haha, but couldn't find any)))
Well, I've missed it, and joined only when the answer has already been found - so no limeric this time. But rest assured, the next puzzle I solve first will be accompanied by a limerick, as usual =)
Okay, now it's time for a "shotgun" Limerick!
:-) I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed when talking about idioms! ♡♡♡ No shrek for me this weekend. :-)

An additional variation is "Not the sharpest tool in the box/knife in
