“to the trolley” is incorrect
Is it "to? How about "into"?
Yes, you can use IN(TO). What is a trolley, though? Is this about a shopping cart?
What can I say? You are a typical American.
Why TOKENS?
Ok, I just googled it and found shopping carts, right?
Normally they are interlocked and you use 1£/€ coin to unlock them. The coin remains in the trolley until you place it back to one of special places and lock back. The amount is symbolical - just to incentivize people not to leave the trolleys all over the place.
Yep, we have the same thing here with shopping carts. I guess TROLLEY is the British equivalent. Thanks
ETA. Usually you don't have any cash on you, let alone coins. Hence the tokens.
Oh, ok. Here they give you a coin if you don’t have one and you give it back on the way out.
But very few stores do it anymore. Only ALDI as far as I know.
Still pretty common in UK
