Alex, we say "in x hours" or "in so many hours." I think you should just use one x, and leave off the example with "6 hours," which is a little off-topic if the idea here is to learn how to say столько-то in English.
Better example: "Let's say your train arrives in x hours/in so many hours and you're an hour away from the station. How much notice would you need to make it to there in time to pick up your mother?"
My attempt: Допустим, ты ждешь поезда, который приедет через столько-то часов, причем ты находишься в часе езды от станции. 3а какое время должны подавать тебе уведомления для того, чтобы успеть стретить вовремя маму?

Uly,
Your last snippet shows impeccable Russian!
As for my translation, after that example, I can assume the original implies "so many hours." However, I believe that most likely Oleg meant the typical English pattern for "через 5,6,7.... часов". Anyway, since the guy still hasn't said a word to clarify his point, I'm deleting my translation, and let him use what he got on here.
Uff, that was a typo! Thank you for checking)))
You should add your IN X HOURS - it’s very valid and common

Alex, you did it again!))) The post is about “x hours” but you used an example with “2 hours.”
No example now 🤯
