I thought of "caught" but decided "has got" was more natural. I obviously was wrong.😒

Actually, you can use them both. However, we normally say HAS a cold or CAUGHT a cold. But HAS GOT is also perfectly acceptable.

(1) My husband/wife has a cold. (2) My husband/wife’s got a cold. (3) My husband/wife caught a cold.

PS: SPOUSE is a very formal word - nobody would use it in conversation. I would recommend HUSBAND/WIFE.

The same in Russian - a spouse is a very formal word. But Tatiana used the word Husband in her second question, so, I thought the word Spouse in this question was used intentionally. That's why I left it.😊
