finishing and appointing a space in a new building
finishing and decoration of a new-built flat (?)
Hello everyone. Does ремонт и отделка refer to repairs and decoration?
Yes. But the first issue discussed there - is REPAIR possible in a brand new building in terms of the English language, doesn’t it sound absurd?
No. The initial “repair” and decoration of an apartment are called “finishing and appointing a new space in a building”
The second subject: I wrote Decorating, Grumbler thinks Decoration is more appropriate for what is done to a new apartment prior to moving there. To start with, how about my translation? Is it ok per ce?
*per se
Your comment came first, so I can delete my translation, but before I do it and you post yours, is it acceptable anyway?
It’s odd. “apartment decorating” doesn’t sound like a compound a native would use, and “new build” is a bit confusing.
Thanks, post yours please.
Issue closed. Good night!💤
Done)) goodnight))
You guys are awesome, thank you! )
Anytime)))
'space' sounds too general to me. It's an unfinished flat, not just any space.
office space, retail space, ...
and even living space isn't necessarily a flat.
We often called an unrented apartment a space. But you can also substitute apartment here too.
How about “interior build-out and finishing a space in new building” ?
Uly, please, advice...
...I just have heard It is called like that (build out) in high-rise buildings for residential environment as well.. no? 😊
Building out means (1) to knock down a wall and make a room bigger; or (2) to add a room to an existing space/house.
🤯
... but, Uly, have you ever got so many "likes' for posting 1 translation only? )
Actually, I’ve gotten more))
stay humble))
I’ll try - but I got 10 on one answer recently. Just being honest))
