DURING THE DAY

Does na ulice literally mean "on the street" or does it imply away from home?

grumbleradded a comment 6 лет назад

Generally, this means 'outdoors', but depends on the context.

The thing is that working in the street sounds like a prostitute. I think it should be WORKS AWAY FROM HOME at night.

grumbleradded a comment 6 лет назад

What about other jobs in/on the street? Cleaning, promotions, selling stuff, ...
And does "away from home" necessarily mean outdoors?

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 6 лет назад

I think the whole thing refers to how much this guy works - “He can work up to twice a day - morning and afternoon; at home on the computer in the morning and away from home during the day.”

grumbleradded a comment 6 лет назад

From the very start all this sounded very awkward to me, but I insist that на улице excludes any office, house etc. It's "под открытым небом" as we say in Russian.

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 6 лет назад

So then maybe they mean inside the house in the morning and outdoors in the afternoon?

grumbleradded a comment 6 лет назад

Возможно, но, именно сочетание подробного описания работы дома с невнятным 'outdoors' мне кажется странным, поэтому я это слегка конкретизировал. Возможно, напрасно - добавь свою версию.
Только "вечер" - это не afternoon
