Elena, from an oven (HEATED in English is superfluous if you’re talking about an oven)
STUFFY refers to a room that gets hot from the windows being closed. It’s better to say STIFLING in reference to a desert.
I’m not too impressed with Fainna’s translation. In the literary style, you don’t use the progressive past, but rather the simple past, if the situation described is clearly progressive in nature. “A hysterical woman wailed in the neighboring room.“ “The villagers threw stones at the prisoners as they were led down the street.“
