Взвалить ответственность

Of course not
It doesn’t really make sense. Olga, translate it for me.
I have no idea what this guy meant, dear 😂
I think he tried to translate that Russian bit.
Yeah, he did. He probably made it up himself too because even in Russian it sounds odd. Especially «свою институтку» part.
From the context he meant проститутку
What's wrong with my sentence could you please concritize)))
*Could you please be more specific?
I don’t know enough Russian to criticize your Russian sentence, but the English sentence is a hot mess.
Ok, criticize my English sentence 😀
Haha, no, not «проститутку». What he was trying to say was that a guy “passed the buck” (meaning some kind of work) to his unsophisticated friend and was relaxing at the pool with a glass of pina colada.
Only «институтка» is an old fashion term used in 19 century referring to a young female University student. «Своя институтка» doesn’t make any sense in Russian.
so she’s like an intern?
No, a student.
Ah! The problem is that “pass the buck” doesn’t literally mean to give work to somebody, it means to shrug the responsibility or blame onto someone besides yourself.
The reason I thought she was an intern is that he says СВОЮ институтку.
That’s what I mean. Both sentences are totally wrong.
Having unloaded all his work on an unsuspecting student, he was sitting poolside taking tiny sips from his piña colada.
Our boss is working us ragged. He doesn’t do anything! Whenever management requires another report from us, he passes the buck so that he can blame someone else if the report isn’t right.
Thanks for the remake of my sentence with the whole ball of wax 😃😃😃
AND the whole ball of wax 😉
you’re welcome 😉
перекладывать/ сваливать ответственность (на кого-то)
Correct, Al!
In my opinion, работа doesn’t quite work here, but задача would.
