меня в классе есть МОЯ подруга Саша." - ясно что ваша. Не чужая же.
А пробелам между предложениями вас в школе не учат?

Dear Russian people - forget the word CINEMA. It belongs in another century.

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

We also say cinema tickets, American cinema, etc. but GO TO THE MOVIES )))

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 7 years ago

It'll take one more century for Russian people to forget it for good.)

And that won’t be soon enough for me)))

😟 Whenever you see "What is it? It is a book" stuff in new textbooks, it's hard for you to be optimustic. Or, for example, they say Americans use "icebox" instead of "fridge".

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

Hahahahaha. I see what you mean. Actually, some people in the south still say icebox.

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 7 years ago

Really? I asked about this word on hinative and someone said that noone has called it like that for a century or so.

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

That’s not true. Yesterday I was at the pool in my building and a guy was telling his son, “This summer I’m sending you to camp. I’m not going to have you sit around the house going into the icebox all summer.“

Tatiana Gerasimenkoadded a comment 7 years ago

That's very interesting! Nevertheless, the statement В США холодильник называют icebox would sound like it's about everyone.

⁌ ULY ⁍added a comment 7 years ago

No, that wouldn’t be accurate. But in all fairness, a refrigerator is one of those things that has a lot of different names, so it’s not the best example.
