Some Christmas phrases for everyday:

- Turkeys voting for Christmas. (if a person acts like turkeys in this saying that means he is very stupid and is going to harm himself; turkeys are often eaten on Christmas Day)

- Christmas comes but once a year. (you should take all the advantages of life cause we live only once.)

- After Christmas comes Lent. (festivities may begin at Christmas, but they must end at Lent)

- It's as if Christmas had come early! (“That would be nice!”)

- The closer to Christmas, the gooder kids get. (we all behave like kids before Christmas, when we want some gifts of this world; it's not that bad)

(Look up at the very list and comments here: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/word-lovers-blog/new/top-10-collins-words-of-the-year,259,HCB.html)

well, well,well..look who is back! This dude was mentioned at least two times in this chat

MANSPREADING (Noun)

The practice by a male passenger on public transport of sitting with his legs wide apart, so denying space to passengers beside him.

Another term is man-sitting. According to Wikipedia the word appeared in 2013 in public debate when a feminist anti-manspreading campaign was started on the social media website Tumblr. This year Oxford English Dictionary and Collins Dictionary added it.

Dude, stop spreading! I only wonder if there is any such word for women...Don't they spread at all?

GHOSTING

The act of suddenly ceasing all communication with someone the subject is dating, but no longer wishes to date. This is done in hopes that the ghostee will just "get the hint" and leave the subject alone, as opposed to the subject simply telling them he/she is no longer interested. Ghosting is not specific to a certain gender and is closely related to the subject's maturity and communication skills. Many attempt to justify ghosting as a way to cease dating the ghostee without hurting their feelings, but it in fact proves the subject is thinking more of themselves, as ghosting often creates more confusion for the ghostee than if the subject kindly stated how he/she feels.

Carmen: How was your second date with Kyle?

Beth: I thought it went well, but I've texted him a couple of times since then and he's been ghosting me.

Carmen: What? I thought he was more mature than that.

(Urban Dictionary)

the word 'ghosting' is now also in the Top 10 of the Words of the Year 2015 (look at the rest: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/word-lovers-blog/new/top-10-collins-words-of-the-year,259,HCB.html)
