Besides the whole sentence, "претендовать" is the word in question in the context like this. I incline to "aspire to", but I'm not sure...
She wasn't expecting (to get) any special treatment or attention from Dmitry.

PRETEND means делать вид and ASPIRE is used with positions and achievements.
If you want to use ASPIRE, you have to use more words: She didn’t aspire to reaching a point where Dmitry would give her special treatment and attention.
