At first glance, I have no idea what METTLESOME means (and English is my native language). I tried to find the Russian word in a dictionary and couldn't find it.
Have you an idea what "разудалый" means?)) I have heard it maybe twice before being Russian native speaker. Although it exists being synonym to courageous or spirited. It's poetical word, I suppose.
Oh, yeah, and sorry for not correcting a mistake. "Разудалый", а не "разудалный".
I have no idea with the Russian word means, and I’ve never heard the word mettlesome before. Actually, “daring” and “spirited” might be a better choice. We also have the word “intrepid ” which means about the same thing and is more common.
Разудалый = удалой:
PLUS бесшабашный:
MUCH better words. METTLESOME sounds the same as and can be confused with MEDDLESOME. I didn’t even know that METTLESOME existed until this post and I’m sure other natives don’t either.
