Два вопроса, Улий. Я считала, что service - это сервис/обслуживание в ОБЩЕМ смысле, а обслуживание в ДАННОМ заведении общепита должно быть с ОПРЕДЕЛЁННЫМ артиклем - the service.
И ещё. "Полчаса" мы называем HALF AN HOUR. Это неправильно?
обслуживали очень медленно. Нам пришлось ждать полчаса, чтобы нас посадили, хотя столик мы заказали за неделю

(1) Sometimes there's no logic to why we say the things we say, but I can tell you that 9 out of 10 people would say "service was very slow." Of course, it is quite correct to say "the service," but for some reason, it's more popular without the definite article. (2) you can say "half an hour" or "a half hour" – they both mean the exact same thing.
