Ещё одна попытка. It wasn't quite indifference itself, it was its facade, though being played pretty skilfully.
Равнодушие напускное, хотя неплохо разыгранное.

It's a litter wordy and I think you kind of lost the meaning. It WAS indifference, it just wasn't sincere. So you could say: The indifference was a facade, although played rather skillfully.
Благодарю, буду знать!)
Мне лучше удалить свой перевод, я правильно поняла?
Не удаляй, a изменяй: The indifference was (only) a facade, although played rather skillfully.
Извини, что заставила повторяться! )). Немного дёргаюсь.)
Ничего страшного)
For some reason, I would changed the Uly's translation to :The indifference was AN affected, although not a bad performance. Or, to - The indifference was affected, although quite well performED. Am I wrong?
Kind of. In basic terms: the indifference was affected - the performance was good. There's no reason to put AN in front of "affected."
"quite well performed" is good, but so is "not a bad performance." So maybe instead of changing my translation, you should post your own.
No! It would be plagiarism. ))
The beauty of language is that there's more than one way to say everything.
