"Как" was lost in translation. Both "Как" and "кто" were about of the same importance, the former even slightly more important.

As for me, "HOW" is a kind of excessive here. The emphasis has been laid on " WHO" (I'm with you here) - one shouldn't stoop to THEM and so on. But Uly knows better.)))

Tatiana , to be honest, I'm still wondering what that как means. I'm glad grumbler touched on it. Is it correct in the sentence? Does it mean: no matter HOW (much) someone gets on your nerves…?

If " no matter how" is the same as " in what way", then it's correct, Uly.
