I guess Aleh's version is more literal while Nathan"s one is more colloquial. Am I right?

There's nothing like your (own) point of view to obstruct your view.

I figured repeating "view" would make it more clever :)

Yes. Basically the point of the phrase is that the only limitation you have of seeing or understanding something is your point of view. It might not mean literally you can't see something based on your location, it can mean that based on your upbringing, biases, or understanding of the world, you can misunderstand something because you only see the world through your lenses or "point of view". The phrases teaches us to think out of the box, and put ourselves in others' shoes to see the world a little bit differently.
Thanks a lot! Great explanation, Nathan!
Aleh was the perfect person to translate this! He lives it :)
👍
hahaha
He lives it - он пропустил это через себя?
That's exactly how he lives his life
Просто здесь буквальный перевод не работает. "Он этим живёт" мы говорим, о чём-то, без чего человек не мыслит своей жизни, например о страстном увлечении рисованием. Поэтому мне показалось, что he lives lt лучше перевести так. Или, возможно, "это то, как он мыслит/чувствует".
