It has everything to do with the fact that "such" can't be used with superlatives. It's not idiomatic to say "such the biggest/greatest/smallest etc.". "Such" can only be used with the positive degree of an adjective (such a big lie/such a terrible mistake/such a huge difference etc.) and never with comparatives and superlatives.
