подобный шаг = such step (used not in the meaning "movement", but rather "act"); sth like this
Как только он решился на подобный шаг? = How did he dare to do sth like this? How could he dare such a step? How did he bring himself to do sth like this?

125. One needs an infinitiv here -> согласиться ("agree, consent")
127. Cтыдиться некоторых своих слабостей (to be ashamed of some of one's weaknesses): the verb "стыдиться" (to be ashamed of) needs a noun in Genetive Case (родительный падеж) -> некоторЫХ своИХ слабостЕЙ

124. "не разбуди я его" = a form whose equivalent is "если бы я его не разбудил" = "if I hadn't woken him up"
Знаешь, не разбуди я его, он бы и до обеда проспал. = If I hadn't woken him up, he would have slept till noon.
125. Как было не согласиться ей помочь, она ведь так просила! = How could have I not agreed to help her, she pleaded so!
