The point of this (booklet, brochure, newsletter...) is to help you see that making friends at school, at parties or at the park is nothing to get anxious about.

This piece tells you that you shoudn't be nervous/anxious if you want to make friends in school, at a party or at the park.
I don't think "piece" is the best choice here. By default, it makes me think of a piece of music.
