In order to use this phrase, there has to be some initial opposition or disbelief. Otherwise, we just say "He's right."
[Family at the breakfast table]
MOTHER: (to her children) The neighbor's kids all have chicken pox. I don't want you going anywhere near them until they're over it.
FATHER: Actually, we should take both the kids over so they can get it while they're young.
MOTHER: Really, Howard? Have you taken leave of your senses?
GRANDFATHER: Actually, he has a point; it's better for them to get it as children than as adults. Your great uncle got the chicken pox at 25 and was left sterile.
