Wuddaya
from the book, "Catcher in the Rye"
“You do? Wuddaya mean ‘philosophy’? Ya mean sex and all? You mean it’s better in China? That what you mean?”
= what do you
Что ты
= What do you mean 'philosophy'? Ну что ты имеешь в виду, "философия"?
что ТЫ
ах, забыла ( спасибо!
👍🏼 😉
Very good, but I have to say - even грамотные people say “wuddaya” or “wuddayu” - this just spells out how we actually pronounce “what do you” in normal speech. Even “intelligent” people don’t take the time to say “what-do-you” unless they’re stressing “do”: “Well, if you didn’t come here looking for work, then what DO you want?” Otherwise, we ALL say “...then wuddaya want?”
Ah, I see, then I'll correct it back)))
Thank you 😀
