It's not кривой, it's called fronting. It's used all the time in English to emphasize an element that usually comes later in the sentence: [Mother] "Camping with four kids is no easy thing. After a long day of swimming, fishing, yelling, hiking, snakes and mosquitos, I took out the bottle of wine I had secretly packed and served myself a glass after the kids were asleep. I could do without the hot bath, the candles, the soft music, etc. But THIS I needed."

Additionally, "THIS I need!" can be uttered on its own as an expression of frustration over a problem that comes up in the middle of a difficult time:
(The phone rings at 2:00 in the morning and Alan picks up)
[Police]: Mr. Sitkin, I'm afraid your son has been arrested for driving under the influence. We'll need you to come down to the station and collect him.
[Alan]: I'll be right there.
[Wife]: What was that??
[Alan]: George has been arrested for drunk driving. THIS I need! It's not enough that I'm taking care of my mother, who's dying in the next room and I just lost my job. When it rains, it pours!
